Storage Tips

  1. Plan your storage space; place those items that you may need to access often in front. Allow for walkways.
  2. Make up an inventory of your stored items and keep in safe place at home.
  3. Place your stored items on 2x4 boards or pallets to guard against dampness.
  4. Stack lighter boxes on top and use bubble wrap for dishes, glasses and mirrors.
  5. Furniture with drawers can be utilized as storage places for pictures, nick knacks, china and small items.
  6. Tables having removable legs should be broken down to save space.
  7. Sofas and loveseats can be stored on the end to save floor space. Always place a protective cover under the item on floor.
  8. Cover stuffed furniture with protective covers or plastic.
  9. Always use a good quality disk lock on your door.
  10. Make sure your items are covered under your homeowners or renters insurance. Secure Storage is not responsible for any loss or damage.

Please always maintain a safe speed in the complex (5 mph).  Keep unit and common areas clean, remove all items when vacating. Report any suspicious situations to management.

What is climate control?
Climate controlled units are conditioned units they are heated in the winter and cooled in the summer months. This feature will help protect from extreme temperature changes. If you would not store your items in your garage then we recommend using climate control.

Do you offer RV/Boat storage?
Absolutely we are one of the largest RV/Boat storage facilities in Kent County. We are able to accommodate RV/Boats as large as 50’.

What are my payment options?
We recommend setting up an account under our auto-bill program, under this program you are billed on the first of each month without invoice or notice and will prevent any lapses that could cause late fees to be charged. This convenient option also allows you to have to worry about missing a payment being denied access to your unit.

Your account can also be managed through this web site, with current, secure information available to you 24/7.

Payments can also be paid through the mail, phone or walk in during regular business hours.

We do not invoice for payments and do not accept cash at the premises. We accept all major credit cards, business/personal checks and money orders.

When can I access my unit?
Full access to your unit is available in accordance with your agreement. The facility may be closed and access denied during extreme weather and/or unsafe conditions.

Who can access my unit?
Only the tenant(s) who have signed the lease have right to enter the facility and access your unit.

What do I do when I want to move out?
Our rental agreements are month to month, and renew automatically unless the agreed to minimum 10 day written notice is received in our office. Make sure proper notice is delivered to the office. Upon vacating the unit, you must remove all items and broom clean the unit. Tenant is responsible for all costs to remove items and clean unit.
